To Rococo Rot

Made up of current members of both Tarwater and Kreidler, the German trio To Rococo Rot has been putting its own imprint on experimental minimalism since their formation in '96. Originally, the band was created to perform background music for multimedia art installations, but they have since been able to form a case for the blending of organic instrumentation with electronics. Much more than say, Jesus Jones. Fusing the hypnotic elements of Krautrock with heavy bass and warm snippets of guitar, they have been able to successfully blanket their sound with a synthetic fabric while still sounding loose, mechanical and emotional. Their sparse sound manages to focus on maintaining a groove rather than focusing on technical proficiency and tempo changes.
