The new wavers weren't the only ones playing with synthesizers in 1981: So was Todd Rundgren, whose Healing extends his baroque pop tendencies into synth-soaked space rock and new age fusion. The bleepy production on "Pulse" makes for the funkiest blue-eyed electro this side of Kraftwerk -- no wonder it was sampled by the excellently named Rapsody for 2011's "Rock the Bells," featuring Kendrick Lamar. Hot Chip, Com Truise, Neon Indian, Simian Mobile Disco and J Dilla have all sampled Rundgren, and Norway's Lindstrom even commissioned two remixes from the prog-rock icon in 2012.
