When you're from New Jersey and have an affinity for emo-inspired punk, you have plenty of choices when it comes to checking out local bands. Tokyo Rose came together in 2001, when the two local bands that Ryan Dominguez and Chris Poulsen played in called it quits. The two eventually brought in drummer Jon Smith and second guitarist Greg Doran, and the quartet set about writing songs in earnest. A word-of-mouth buzz formed around the band, thanks in part to Tokyo Rose's willingness to tour beyond the garden state. The band's debut, Reinventing A Lost Art came out via SideCho Records in 2003.
