As always with this crew, ZZ Top are the primary reference point: awesome Rio Grande Mud dance boogie in "Brown Bottle Rock"; bawdy references to "wood" in "Oven Burnin' Woman"; "Tush" riff in the backdoor-man-themed "Flatblack Flathead." "Walk On Water" features bumpity-bump rhyming over Skynyrd guitars, plus Montgomery Gentry-style sage advice from the singer's old man; "Soul Perspective" is soul metal after the style of Thin Lizzy. There's plenty of other badassness, too -- as sweat-inducing as the Essie's South American Style Sauce that Too Slim and his boys peddle on their webpage.
