BiographyThis eclectic Czech band that is rock in energy but deeply inspired by Eastern European folk forms, has been around since 1995. Now a foursome, Traband have toured throughout Europe and into Asia, as far away as Greece and Japan; though translations vary, some reports suggest that they've even been known to do shows on rafts, and on horseback. 2007's Pritel Cloveka album was awarded an "Andel" -- the local Grammy equivalent -- in the World Music category. Instruments credited on 2010's Domasa include baritone guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, harmonium, trumpet, tuba, metallophon, sousaphone, piano, violin, violincello, theremin, "small tricks and innovations" and "children's voice," among others.
