Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love
Released: Nov 2007
Label: Big Machine
After 15 fruitful years on MCA, Trisha Yearwood's first album for the Big Machine label overflows with more energetic, upbeat songs than many of her previous works. The ballads are still here ("This Is Me You're Talking To" is a soaring standout), but the prominent songs are quite playful and reflect a fearless and fun side of Yearwood, especially the old-timey honky-tonk saunter of "Cowboys Are My Weakness" and "Drown Me," a more up-tempo, boozy number that rocks with a weekend dipsomaniac's abandon while rolling with the boogie-woogie of a pounding parlor piano.
