Not much but love, home and sleep seem to be on the minds of Two Door Cinema Club. It makes sense for a band stuck on the road nearly nonstop since their 2010 breakout debut: "I've never been this far from home/ Hold, hold, hold me close," Alex Trimble pleads on "Sleep Alone." Beacon is as much a study of wistfulness as it is of the perfect catchy pop song. The Northern Irish trio dresses their McCartney-esque melodies in sparkles of synths and shades of prickly guitar, all buoyed by booming dance beats that make every song feel triumphant, even paranoid disco ballad "The World Is Watching."
