T.B. Sheets was originally released in 1974, but these eight tracks date back to '67, a pivotal time in Van the Man's storied career. It's when the singer made the leap from garage-rock growler to full-blown artist. Much of this material overlaps his debut, Blowin' Your Mind. Yet there's some truly revelatory stuff here, including bluesy first stabs at "Madame George" and "Beside You," both of which Morrison would re-imagine as mystical folk-jazz for Astral Weeks, his 1968 landmark.
