All Over Me, originally released in 1997, is one of those post-Kids films about troubled teens making their way in the big city. In this case we're dealing with a couple of young girls in New York waking up to two things: indie rock and sexuality. This means the soundtrack is a who's who of underground female rockers and self-empowered folkies including Ani DiFranco, Babes in Toyland, Patti Smith, Helium, Sleater-Kinney and the underrated Tuscadero. But hey -- where the heck are the Red Aunts?
