In this 1980 recording, conductor Herbert von Karajan is at his finest, leading the Berlin Philharmonic over Beethoven's famously dark virtuoso Triple Concerto. Young violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and cellist Yo-Yo Ma are in fine form. Pianist Mark Zeltser rises from either the side solo or the orchestra as the great moderator. The final movement is a joy, coming from moments of deep contemplation. Give them the time to work on you.
