Wow -- it's been quite a ride for the Ramones. They started out hustling the grimier street corners of New York and now find themselves nostalgic entertainment for kids. Singers from neo-punk acts like Pennywise clean up the lyrics and initiate a younger generation into the Cro-Magnon joy that is Ramones rock. But what's surprising about these covers is how faithful they are to the originals -- the only significant change is a chorus of children, who shout along gamely, Kidz Bop-style, for the entire 12 tracks.
