The film adaptation of E.B. White's classic children's book gets Danny Elfmanned, but don't expect to hear his usual crazy cartoon noises implementing such devices as the juice harp, vibroslap, glass harmonica or electric bassoon. Elfman's score here leans more on gossamer, classic sounding compositions, culling influences from Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring, Nigel Westlake's Babe, Joe Hisaishi's My Neighbor Totoro and Leopold Stokowski's direction of the Philadelphia Orchestra's score for the 1940 Disney epic, Fantasia. Sarah McLachlan sings on "Ordinary Miracle."
