Krivit's NYC DJ career dates back to the '70s, as does almost every crate-dug cut he stretches out here -- all '74 to '77, in fact, save for Patrice Rushen's scatted '79 aviary soul and an '86 house-and-freestyle precursor from Foxy mastermind Ish Ledesma, alias Blue Moderne. The aesthetic revolves around brassy disco-jazz, most propulsive when Afrobeat rockers Black Blood and hustling funksters Fatback Band up the Latin percussion. For uneasy celebration, meanwhile, there's obscure R&B from Chairmen Of The Board and Philadelphia All-Stars, who vow to wash down the ghetto with a mop and pail.
