After years out of the limelight, composing team Jatin Lalit re-entered the business with this 2006 soundtrack for what would become the biggest-grossing Indian film of all time (for now). Fanaa was the blockbuster to end all blockbusters, with a massive budget and unparalleled hype. (It was the first film to feature luminaries Aamir Khan and Kajol acting together.) Just as much money and effort was poured into the soundtrack, which -- while it may lack the inspiration that makes for massive hits -- finds enough good moments to merit more than a few listens, aside from the dull, patriotic "Des Rangila."
