Oh, when you hear Doris Day's voice ring out "Here comes Santa Claus!", you'll know that everything's right in the world. (Or you can take brief refuge in that illusion, at any rate.) Day sounds like she's dressed in a fur-lined cloak and sitting on a sleigh in the snow, and from there on out, every singer, whether it's Gene Autry or Rosemary Clooney, achieves the kind of innocence and simplicity that marks the bygone era they represent. It's a perfect slice of Christmas sentimentality for little nippers, and as a bonus it includes a very sweet story from Captain Kangaroo.
