Deniece Williams' "Let's Hear It for the Boy" and Kenny Loggins' title track were both No. 1 hits when this movie and its soundtrack took over the world in 1984. A document of the 1980s that says as much about the music of the decade as a 10-disc retrospective, Footloose sold 6 million copies when it came out and still plays well at parties (albeit parties that feature people approaching 50 years of age). Loverboy's Mike Reno and Heart's Ann Wilson offer one of the great ballads of the decade with the modern karaoke-bar staple "Almost Paradise."
