This collection of Motown classics tweaked by Latin producers and artists definitely falls into the "oh-so-subtle adaptation" school of remixing. The slight reggaeton riddim on "I Want You Back" sounds organic. Dennis Edwards seems right at home in the chic lounge DJ U.F. constructs. And didn't Jr. Walker and the All Stars' rhythm section always include congas? In fact, a few of these revisions (David Elizondo's "Heat Wave") are so subtle they seem superfluous. Sonidero Nacional's intriguing overhaul of "Square Biz" is the lone representative of the jolting, Frankensteinian remix.
