It doesn't get better than this: songs about soccer from Brazil, the nation that has given us some of the most spectacular players of all time. The album opens with an aural adrenalin rush: the audio of Pele's 1970 World Cup goal. Then onto business, which means a lot of samba and bossa nova, circling around the subject of futebol with a series of ace strikers, including Jorge Ben, Caetano Veloso and Elis Regina. But some of the best songs veer out of the box, including Jackson Do Pandeiro's wonderful forro about King Pele and Carmen Miranda's dusty "Touradas em Madri."
