This is the appropriately moody and atmospheric soundtrack album to the road movie by noted director Wong Kar Wai (whose greatest work may be In the Mood For Love). Norah Jones stars in the film and sings a new tune, "The Story," for this soundtrack. The rest of the album has the same kind of late-night/early-morning jazzy rootiness that Norah Jones is known for. This includes classy cuts by Cat Power, Amos Lee and Cassandra Wilson, along with selections from Ry Cooder's score.
