Released:
Label: BNA RECORDS LABEL
This is one of the most surprisingly awesome tribute albums to turn up in the country music realm. Who would have thought that covering Barbara Mandrell could sound so fun? Well, anyone who remembers how catchy her songs were. Terri Clark and Gretchen Wilson give "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" and "The Midnight Oil" some female tough love (respectively). And Dierks Bentley makes "Fast Lanes and Country Roads" rock harder than the original. CeCe Winans' gospel steeped take on "He Set My Life to Music" and LeAnn Rimes' poppy version of "If Loving You Is Wrong" round out the album with diversity.
