Predictably, Stones Throws Records tosses a curveball with their 10-year retrospective. Sure, all the "stars" are there, from Madlib to MF Doom to J Dilla, but their contributions are generally B-sides, remixes and album cuts. The real gems are the more left-field tracks--the wispy trip pop of Koushik's "Be With" or the preschool garage psych of Stark Reality's "Comrades & Dreams." These tracks are truly emblematic of a label that's lived outside the margins for a decade.
