Some nine years after serving as a musical consultant for the film The Red Violin, Joshua Bell revisits the score, again partnering with notable composer John Corigliano. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that both have matured since the first time around, since Corigliano's themes for the original film score, which won an Oscar in 1999, are fleshed out into a lovely, if sometimes cautious, concerto, and Bell's performance is the peak of his interpretive and expressive powers.
