For two decades, glam, disco and new wave misfits would pack midnight screenings of a bizarre musical comedy about transsexual space aliens. While a big part of the fun was yelling back at the screen, the rock songs have lasted long after home viewing destroyed the midnight movie. "Time Warp" became one of those rare songs beloved by classic rockers and new wavers alike, while FM stations also played Tim Curry's "Sweet Transvestite." Curry's tunes stand out so much that the actor became a professional singer and earned a solo hit with 1979's "I Do the Rock."
