Given that the movie is set in 1994, the accompanying soundtrack serves as a nostalgic ride through one of hip-hop's greatest eras. Three songs from the Bad Boy catalog (Craig Mack's "Flava In Your Ear," the Notorious B.I.G.'s "The What," and Total's "Can't You See") speak to the label's emergence as a powerful house of hits during that time. Raekwon's "Heaven & Hell" and Wu-Tang Clan's "Tearz" serve as reminders of Wu-Tang's former dominance. Music like this makes purists who complain that hip-hop is dead get all emotional and misty-eyed.
