Since the 1986 Transformers feature-length cartoon got a 2007 blockbuster facelift, it only makes sense that the soundtrack get an upgrade. The heavily hyped film is about killer alien robots that transform into muscle cars, army helicopters and other testosterone torqued machines. Fitting then, that the soundtrack should feature alt-rawk heroes Linkin Park, the Used, H.I.M., Disturbed and so forth. A reunited Smashing Pumpkins show up sounding like the '90s never ended and Goo Goo Dolls provide the token ballad. Unfortunately nobody covered Stan Bush's "The Touch" from the original soundtrack.
