Three years after Flashmob, France's ultimate rave maven returns with his fourth album, sounding as supercharged as ever. In 2001, Vitalic's "Poney" made nice between early '90s techno and au courant electroclash, and Rave Age attempts a similar temporal bridge, wrapping up '80s Eurodance cheese, golden-era trance, post-Justice electro shenanigans and big-tent, EDM-in-2012 bombast, right down to the wobbles and drops. (There's even a detour into trap.) Unapologetic in its clenched-grin buzz, it's music made for mad crowds and muddy fields.
