This album starts out with one of the most graphic descriptions of a gun battle you can find. "By the sound, you'd think you were walking in Iraq," sing brothers Miguel and Jorge Gaxiola; given the arsenal of bazookas they describe, they're not far off. It's not the only time bazookas are mentioned admiringly on La Nueva Federacion; the album captures moments which, for all their newsworthiness, also strike a chill in your heart, such as when the singer describes 15 masked gunmen on their way to an unknown destination. "If you want to know what happened/ turn on the television," he sings.
