Walter Hawkins & the Hawkins Family

Whether he's working solo, with the Hawkins Family or with the Love Center Choir, Walter Hawkins has become known as one of the top players in the Gospel game. Since 1975, when he formed the group that would eventually become the Edwin Hawkins Singers as a means to raise funds for his brother Edwin's singing career, Hawkins has enjoyed an astonishing level of recognition and success among secular and Christian fans alike. Hawkins' music is rooted in the deepest Gospel traditions, but he has always pushed those traditions into the present day, through relevant and innovative arrangements and by keeping a finger on the pulse of the ever-changing musical landscape.
