Warne Marsh

Biography

Warne Marsh, a disciple of the low-key but revolutionary pianist Lennie Tristano, was more successful as a sideman during his life than as a leader of solo dates. Luckily he recorded relatively frequently, and after his death, his Cool-toned, adventurous recordings are just as prized as his collaborations with Bill Evans, Lee Konitz, and Supersax.
