On their fourth album, from 1995, Warrant go grunge once and for all. You can hear echoes of Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains at their most hook-conscious all through the thing -- not to mention Nirvana in the title cut, which reintroduces chord progressions from "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to Boston's "More Than a Feeling." They get pretty trippy too, and Jani Lane way outsings most grunge guys. "Crawl Space" could pass for a claustrophobic lost Cream track; "Ride #2" is fast post-Steppenwolf biker rock. And "Family Picnic"'s groove seems to remember Stevie Wonder or War.
