Never Say Die: The Complete Final Concert

Never Say Die: The Complete Final Concert by Waylon Jennings
Released: Jul 2007
Label: Rca/Legacy
If you're not a big Waylon fan (shame on you), this Ryman Auditorium recording from 2000 boasts guest appearances by other folks you may dig, such as Montgomery Gentry on "Ramblin' Man," John Anderson on "Waymore's Blues" and Travis Tritt on "I've Always Been Crazy." If you happen to appreciate ol' Waylon, you need this in a bad way. His widow, Jessi Colter, sings four songs with him ("Storms Never Last" is the most endearing), and his version of the Band's "The Weight" sounds like it was written for him. He also does Mentor Williams' "Drift Away" more justice than Uncle Kracker.
