William Hooker

Connecticut-born William Hooker has been a mainstay of New York's jazz scene for over a decade and has collaborated with countless top-notch improvisers, including William Parker, Sabir Mateen, Lee Renaldo and DJ Olive. A drummer of spellbinding intensity and skill, his work is guided by an almost obsessive mission to expand his listeners' perspectives. Often involving apocalyptic poetry, his performances are an organic mix of freely improvised, partially composed, and composed material.
