World Class Wreckin' Cru

Hailing from LA, the World Class Wreckin Cru merged vicious Electro grooves with straight-forward but nice rhymes. Comprised of Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Lonzo, and Cli-N-Tel, their early singles like "Surgery" and "Housecalls" found love on the streets and in clubs, while "The Cabbage Patch" and "The Fly" were dancefloor favorites. Their biggest crossover hit came with the decidedly more R&B styled "Turn Off The Lights" in '87. By the late eighties, Dre and Yella had moved on to start the pioneering gangsta squad N.W.A.
