The diamond-cut choruses show that Chad Kroeger's underlings have matured over the past three LPs, developing into streamlined hitmakers worthy of Nickelback's leather 'n' chrome throne. Producer Howard Benson harnesses the hurricane here, giving the most aggro rockers enough polish for wide appeal. Like the 'Back, though, it's the chest-swelling, Halliburton-built power ballads -- "All or Nothing," "Not Meant to Be," "End of the Summer" (it modulates!) -- that demand our lighters aloft.
