Yahir has mustered an all-star stable of songwriters for his fifth album, and the combined creative wattage pans out, meaning Elemental may be the game-changer he's been seeking. All the elements are in place: he looks great, he sings like love has him in a choke-hold, and he's finally experimenting with slightly more exotic Latin rhythms like samba-reggae and vallenato. (Juanes might demand royalties for "Caminito de Besos," but surely there's room for more than one vallenato-pop star.) He rounds all the bases, but does best on "Si Te Piden Tiempo" and "Cuando Se Quiere."
