De Líder a Leyenda
Released: Nov 2013
Label: Sony Music Latin
He's half of one of reggaeton's most important duos, but Yandel is eager to prove he can stand on his own feet -- and his snarlingly aloof vocals -- on his second solo album. De Lider is, in large part, a repository of modern reggaeton: sleek dance beats and gleaming hooks garnished with sirens and shouting. Yandel, with his infinitely blendable, instantly recognizable voice, is very good at this. Still, he shows a lot of love for old-school, harder-edged reggaeton on the album's second half with cuts like the dark, dembow-driven "Fallaron" and "Plakito," a rap-heavy blast from the past.
