Yellowcard, in the spring of 2008, broke fans' hearts by announcing its breakup. Bands, of course, don't call it that nowadays; they use the phrase "indefinite hiatus." Still, the release of When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes is celebrated by all those who thought their heroes were no more. Musically, the record isn't markedly different from previous efforts: melodic mall punk examining suburban love, angst and alienation. What's striking is the prominent role the string arrangements play; these give tracks such as "For You, and Your Denial" and "The Sound of You and Me" a baroque flavor.
