Time And A Word (Bonus Tracks)
Released: Jul 1970
Yes' second album, Time and a Word opens (after an awful intro) with a burnin' cover of Richie Havens' "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed." Jon Anderson insisted that a full orchestra be featured on every song, and where Yes' first album had too much of a Beatles influence, here the band is almost fully realized. Though the perfection of Fragile was still a few years off, the elements -- song sections that fit together like puzzle pieces, highly evolved musicianship and a vectoring rhythm section -- started coming together here.
