ATL rapper Young Dro is best known for "Shoulder Lean," a snappin' club hit that crossed over to urban radio in summer 2006. His friendship with T.I. dates back to their teen years growing up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Atlanta, and when T.I. formed his P.S.C. clique he made Young Dro a member. Dro issued an independent album, I Got That Dro, in 2001, but it was T.I.'s burgeoning stardom that gave Dro full entry into the music industry. He released "Shoulder Lean" on T.I.'s Grand Hustle imprint, and it quickly mushroomed from a regional smash to a national hit, landing in the Top 10 of the singles chart. Young Dro's major-label debut, Best Thang Smokin', added another club hit, "Rubberband Banks." A follow-up, P.O.L.O. (Players Only Live Once), has suffered from endless delays, but is scheduled for release in 2011.
