I Bring What I Love (Soundtrack, Score)
Released: Jan 2010
In 2004, N'dour released Egypt, an album celebrating his Sufi Islamic faith. It was a big hit with Westerners, but not such a big hit in his home country of Senegal, where its Ramadan release rankled elders who felt he was capitalizing on his faith during the holiest month. Filmmaker Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi chronicled N'dour's struggles, and the film's soundtrack functions as a greatest hits album of sorts, proving N'dour is a master of crossover-friendly Afro-pop and still has one of the world's great voices, regardless of what you think of his talent for self-promotion.
