Well, it's official: the retro '80s craze that started in underground clubs for weirdo twenty-somethings has made it all the way to Ashlee Simpson's Hollywood world. (Even Timbaland, who produced "Outta My Head," is getting in on the act.) But you know what? It sounds great. Simpson's throaty, surprisingly un-pop voice really takes to this material, which moves well beyond the insipid lyricism of earlier efforts and owes not a small debt to pop icon Kylie Minogue. Break out your best Molly Ringwald moves and join this party.
