For those who dig Atmosphere's hip-hop everyman persona, You Can't Imagine is sonic Prozac. Producer Ant's work manages to be both bombastic and nuanced, eschewing the quirkiness of earlier work for a polished aesthetic. Slug still has issues: "Little Man" finds him bemoaning his age and failed relationships, while "Watch Out" takes aim at critics.

"Let's watch a rapper get bitter like the city winter"--and he makes something of it ("Watch Out," "Pour Me Another"). (Grade - **)
