Say what you will, it's rare when magic is captured on tape. Baaba Maal seems to make it happen more often than most: critics and fans worldwide fell under the spell of this 1984 release. Maal and Mansour Seck don't seem to trade licks as much as they breathe into each other instrumentally, weaving an aura that doesn't fade or get dated. Brilliant, across the board.
