Bessie Jones

Not strictly for children, this collection puts together two of Jones' records from the early 1970s. She was a powerful vocalist whose low-pitched voice could deliver traditional songs and spirituals with the deep soul of a Sunday morning Pentecostal rave-up. The last half of the record is where the children join in, and the material is just as intensely moving.
