Rhapsody

Hearing vintage Big Star rock out is awesome and all. But the prime cuts from this 1974 radio program feature nothing but Alex Chilton and his acoustic guitar. You can't get anymore schizo, and genius, than an artist who can croon "Thirteen," an innocent ditty about teens in love, then turn around and cover Loudon Wainwright's "Motel Blues," a devastating folk ballad starring a rocker and a teenage groupie: "Chronologically, I know you're young/ But when you kissed me in the club, you bit my tongue."
