Blind Melon

After singer Shannon Hoon died in 1995, Blind Melon fell off the map. The new vocalist, Travis Warren, closely recalls Hoon's ragged charms on the band's first LP in 13 years. It's unexpectedly successful, tastefully updating the band's flannel psyche pop with a swinging vintage aesthetic. Hopefully the reunion will inspire some double-takes, as "Sometimes," "So High" and a catchy title track are worth a closer listen.
