15 Years at the Latin Alternative Music Conference
by Judy Cantor-Navas | May 31, 2014
LAMC, the festival that christened the eclectic border-crossing genre Latin alternative, celebrates 15 years in July: its Quinceñara. What started as a small Manhattan encounter has become a weeklong takeover of New York City. Over the years, the conference has featured a diverse lineup of rock bands, DJs and everything in between, including popular Latin American artists, who -- with LAMC -- finally found a stage in the U.S. With this playlist we recall performances by Kinky, Calle 13, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Julieta Venegas, Molotov and many more who've joined a party so great you might not even remember being there. Rock on, LAMC!
