A Tribute to Peter Rauhofer
by Philip Sherburne | May 30, 2013
For years, Peter Rauhofer set the pulse for many of New York's clubbers: He was a popular resident DJ at the Roxy nightclub, a key venue in the city's gay dance-music community, and a regular fixture on the circuit-party scene. Earlier this month, he died of a brain tumor, leaving a void in the hearts of fans who thrilled to his artfully mixed fusion of tribal house, old-school sounds and energetic pop remixes. To honor his legacy and mourn his passing, we've put together a three-hour playlist of Rauhofer's work, from his own productions on his Star 69 label to his remixes of Donna Summer, Gossip, Scissor Sisters and more.
