Artist Spotlight: Jimmy Buffett
by Justin Farrar | August 23, 2013
The great Jimmy Buffett has returned to port, and he has brought with him Songs from St. Somewhere, the 29th full-length of the troubadour's long (and rum-soaked) career. Boasting tunes such as "Einstein Was a Surfer," "Earl's Dead - Cadillac for Sale" and "Too Drunk to Karaoke," it is yet another witty collection, one that, like a frilly tropical cocktail, mixes numerous flavors, including rock, country and reggae.
Whether you're a veteran Parrothead or a young newbie who recently caught Buffett jamming with the Zac Brown Band, our Artist Spotlight playlist will certainly have you yearning for Caribbean breezes and blinding white sands. In addition to several cuts from Buffett's new album, it contains all his classic tunes, from "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" and "Pencil Thin Moustache" to "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and (of course) "Margaritaville." Get set to sail, because, as you well know, Buffett won't be in port long!
