Artist Spotlight: Phantogram
by Dan Weiss | February 23, 2014
Phantogram's Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel have already made quite a name for themselves. How many bands from a Barsuk Records beginning have gone on to collaborate with Big Boi and The Flaming Lips? And they've done well on their own, too, with songs like 2010's "Don't Move," whose rough, twisted horn samples sound like TV on the Radio's "I Was a Lover" chopped and screwed by Purity Ring; or the new "Never Going Home," which culls from both Radiohead's "Knives Out" and Arcade Fire's "Ocean of Noise." Hear more from the duo on this Artist Spotlight playlist.
